Abstract
The median nerve typically branches distal to the carpal tunnel, but occasionally, a bifid median nerve is present. We report a case of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) with bifid median nerve. The patient presented with aggravated hand pain after blind wrist injection with anesthetics. Ultrasonography revealed bifid median nerve with swelling. Sono-guided injection made her symptom free. Blind injection without neurosonography may hurt median nerve directly. Therefore, ultrasound may be useful in the management of CTS patients for safe intervention.
